Kind warming freckled face
Sun kissed tan
Laying on a blanket by a flowing creek
Feet covered with sand
The birds would sing,  your love would flow just as the sun lit creek
Your smile, your breath, your taste your smell
Everything was pure bliss
Just like a dream
Perfection,
Yet ending up in all reality
Your mind is just wishing of who you wish you could be
A moment that you wish will never end
Something so real that it becomes fake
A strong bond couldn't be broken easy
Thats why you gave me something to take
Yet you and I stopped
Sometimes the dreams and feelings end
You gave me a promise
A promise that made me understand and see
How unconditional your loyal love could be
Therefore I put it in a safe place
Right inside of me
Like a precious diamond, like a priceless artifact
Like my soul
No one can ever take them from me
Perhaps that promise you still keep
Perhaps maybe knowing truth could have made me sleep
Leaving me with no light
Yet I could easily see
Your smile, your love, your taste your touch
And all the letters you wrote to me
And all the times you made me see
And how we were perfect-- you and me
It all was too perfect to be true, could it have been an illusion
Watered down with no evidence of it being real--just  a mere delusion
So maybe it was all a fake
A frightening trick
But no nightmare
But there is one thing I do know
Edgar Allen Poe was right
That maybe truly all that we see or seem
Is nothing but a dream within a dream
